When Rebecca Hill walks into work every morning, she doesn’t just greet her colleagues, she says “hello” to lion fish, penguins and even a 5-meter-long crocodile.
Working as the general human resources manager for an entertainment venue such as the Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium has its own unique challenges, from sourcing uniforms for employees working in sub-zero temperatures, to knowing where to find specialists on rare topics. But the fundamentals are the same: creating a safe and welcoming work space; keeping employees happy; and having fun while doing it.
A really interesting talk by Rebecca putting her industry into perspective especially in the areas on having to adapt to changes and to be able to be flexible. Health and safety also an issue within her industry.
A very good talk.
It is nice to see someone who really likes their job!
