In offices around the world, workers are taking a stand. As the harmful health effects of prolonged periods of sitting become more widely known, standing desks continue popping up – literally.
I wonder if is there any scientific support on standing desks? A paper titled “Difference in Caloric Expenditure in Sitting versus Standing Desks of Christopher Reiff, Kara Marlatt and Donald R. Denguel finds out that there is a significant more calories consumption by working at standing desks than by working sitting on a desk. That wasn’t the only finding.
