Quiz: How well do you know your workplace jargon?

Do you know your PIPs from your PCBUs? What about your learning from your flearning? It’s time to test how much business jargon you really know with HRM’s end-of-year quiz.

While some may see acronyms and abbreviations as an unnecessarily complicated part of office life, using business jargon tends to be an inescapable part of working in HR.

While some companies use jargon to short-cut workplace comms, others, including SpaceX, have been trying to cut down on the amount of acronyms and jargon they use to avoid alienating new and existing employees.

With that said, the prevalence of acronyms in HR means that trying to eliminate them could end up doubling the time it takes to write an email.

Whether you’re team acronym or team actual sentence, take HRM’s 2022 jargon quiz to see how well you really know your business acronyms and abbreviations.

Let us know how you did in the comments below, or share your favourite jargon.
